Update #4 on COVID-19

March 26, 2020

On Monday March 30, 2020, the Provincial Government announced an extension of the closure of nonessential workplaces until Tuesday April 14, 2020.  Cappa will continue to respect this closure order.

Know that we've been working behind the scenes to investigate possible alternative educational frameworks for learning at a distance. As you know, our programs are 80 to 90% practical hands-on learning. Unfortunately, we continue to struggle with how the practical program components can be delivered at a distance. This poses a challenge for accumulating hours to satisfy the ministry required number of hours to graduate. If you have any ideas for how to do this, send me an email.

Stay tuned for further updates as the situation continues to evolve. Be sure to follow social media platforms and our website  to be sure you receive any updates.

Stay safe and healthy

Thanks,

Cappa School of Hairstyling & Aesthetics

Update #3 on COVID-19

March 26, 2020

Cappa continues to monitor the situation on COVID-19. Our original return date was April 1, 2020, however this was before the Provincial governments order for the mandatory closure of all  nonessential workplaces from Tuesday March 24, 2020 until Tuesday April 7th 2020.  This means that we will hopefully be back to class on Wednesday April 8th, 2020.

We will continue to monitor the situation and act accordingly. Stay tuned for further updates as the situation continues to evolve. Be sure to follow social media platforms and our website www.cappaschool.com to be sure you receive any updates.

Since learning of the outbreak of COVID-19, the health and well-being of Cappa students, staff and clients has been our top priority. We have been closely following information published by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Colleges and Universities about COVID-19. This issue continues to evolve and understandably people are becoming increasingly concerned about their health and well-being during this challenging time.

Each student and staff member has been emailed the steps Cappa is taking in support of efforts to control the spread of coronavirus. Students should check their email, including inbox, junk mail and spam folders.

Cappa will implement the following measures starting Monday March 16, 2020:

  • Salon and spa services will be closed to the public until further notice. Aesthetics appointments will be cancelled and rescheduled to a future date. Classes will continue as scheduled for now.

  • Cappa will continue to implement increased sanitization efforts to help maintain a healthy learning environment.

  • Students exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 should follow self-isolation guidance provided by medical professionals and the local public health unit. Telehealth Ontario (Toll-free: 1-866-797-0000) is available to help should you have questions about COVID-19. Cappa will support students in self-isolation by extending grad dates as necessary for the time in self-isolation.

  • Make up hours will continue for now (Monday – Friday 8am to 9am, Monday 5pm to 8pm) for those wishing to attend.
